The overwhelming feeling is sometimes understated when it comes to the career search. It seems like such a simple process – find a job. Of course finding a job is easy, there’s work everywhere. But finding the work that I want and fits my talents and interests is daunting.
Fortunately, I’ve narrowed my search to an industry but finding my place in that industry is a little more difficult than I thought. Every once in a while I slip into a doubtful state and getting out of that mindset continues to prove to be difficult. How can I better manage that negative thoughts so that it does not derail me from my work?
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve made a lot of good contacts so far but I am struggling to turn the friendly job conversations into interviews and eventually job offers. I’ve come to realize there are a lot of people willing to “help” but few who are helping me “close the deal.” How do I find the people that can truly help me get where I want to be?
